THE NEW YORK Fashion Week is one of the major events of the couture calendar – a time when stylish stars flock to the Big Apple to see and be seen while trendspotters seek the Next Big Thing.

But of course, it’s really all about off-the-wall weird outfits – conceived in the fevered late-night imaginations of overworked designers – that will never, ever see the light of day.
