Armagh cinematographer and Kerry animator nominated for Oscars

Seamus McGarvey and Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly are shortlisted.

ARMAGH-BORN SEAMUS McGarvey has been nominated for an Oscar for his work on Anna Karenina.

This is McGarvey’s second nomination – he was shortlisted in 2008 for Atonement.

Yesterday the cinematographer was nominated for both a BAFTA and an IFTA for his work on the film, which was directed by Joe Wright.

Meanwhile Kerry animator Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly has been nominated for her work on the animated short Head over Heels.
