Arthur’s Day: Who’s playing, when and where?

Which bands are playing near you?

IT’S ARTHUR’S DAY today, and the country is coming alive with a wealth of live music and festivities.

You can find our picks from the known listings below, but rumours still surround the big headliners.

They include Bobby Womack, Biffy Clyro, Emeli Sande, Iggy Azalea, James Vincent McMorrow, Janelle Monae, Kodaline, Le Galaxie, Manic Street Preachers, The Original Rudeboys and The Script.

But where are they playing? It’s a surprise.

Rumours have been rampant on social media for the past few days:

The Odeon? W– Whelan’s? Waterloo Bar and Grill? Christ, somebody think of the children.

So we can gather that Emeli Sande is probably in Reardens in Cork, Biffy Clyro will most likely play in Belfast, we’re reliably informed that they won’t be in Dublin despite strong rumours. Lavery’s have begun following them on Twitter (just sayin’) and the Empire had this to say:

biff

But, you can take the Manics out of that equation, they’ll be in Galway by the looks of it.

anics

Iggy Azalea is probably a good bet for Whelan’s, with Kate’s Party and Toy Soldier confirmed already.

What’s for certain though? Goldenplec.com have put together a hugely comprehensive directory of who’s playing and where in most counties.
