What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

Here are the show that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Zoo (RTÉ One, 7pm)

The final episode airs tonight, meaning that your Thursday evenings are about to get a lot less adorable. The episode catches up with baby elephants, lion cubs and sea lions. We’re not able. #RTETheZoo

Celebrity Masterchef (BBC One, 9pm)

Summer has well and truly arrived when celebrity cookery shows begin padding out the schedule. Yes, Celebrity Masterchef is back for another series with 20 celebrities vying for the prestigious title. Tonight’s episode features Chesney Hawkes (blast from the past, wha’?) and Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding. We can only hope there’s a kitchen meltdown. #CelebrityMasterchef

Dogs: Their Secret Lives (Channel 4, 8pm)

This documentary explores what dogs get up to when you’re not at home. The first episode features a pair of cheeky Alsations who mark their territory all over their owner’s house. (Ah lads, that’s not on.) Should be compelling viewing for all the dog owners out there.

Everyone’s talking about… Top Gear

Duh.

The show is holding open auditions to find Evans’ co-host and members of the public are being encouraged to send in audition tapes. Discussing the criteria on last night’s One Show, Evans explained there’s only one rule: you have to know about cars.

You’ve got to know something about cars – you can be a mechanic, you can be an amateur racing driver, you can be a guy who’s a fireman but has been building his own Land Rover in his shed for five or 10 years… but you’ve got to know about cars.

Elsewhere, Evans has reportedly said that he wants a female co-host with Jodie Kidd and Suzi Perry among the favourites to land the coveted gig. (The Mirror)
