That’s fair enough. Cancer is an awful disease.

This time Enda did the right thing.

I dont see what the issue is, even if its on the daily edge or not. I guarantee that any family affected by cancer has more things to worry about than the mahon tribunal or the state of the Irish economy. It’s a worthy cause and deserves all the publicity it can get.

Sometimes I wonder is there an anti-government slant on the journalism on this site and articles like this seem to confirm my view.

Cancer is a very serious disease that has killed thousands of Irish people alone. Any support that can be given to this fantastic charity should be welcomed. So what if our Taoiseach took time out for the launch of an important fundraiser? Whats the big deal?

The Mahon Tribunal has been going on for years and the report taking forever to be published. Its a report that can be examined in detailed later. It was only confirmed last night it was being released today. Yes its a serious report, and yes it should be examined by government. But not instantly. It doesn’t mean we cant see Enda for the day or whatever because he is reading the report which is over 3,000 pages.

I’m sure that this photocall was arranged sometime in advance and I don’t think the release of the Mahon Report should have resulted in the event being cancelled.

I’m pretty certain it is usually the politician that gets invited to photo-shoots with external bodies.. Its for a cause. Enda is well known and this would ensure that the picture gets coverage. That is the whole idea of a photo shoot. Cancer isn’t a political issue. Would the anti Govt brigade be so much up in arms if it was an opposition TD such as Gerry Adams?

My advice to anyone who has posted anything negative is to go away and raise as much awareness as this picture would have then come back to me. The Irish Cancer Society are no fools and well used to dealing with govt. There sole goal is to raise awareness and fund raise for research and to help alleviate peoples pain of this illness which effects every family at some stage.

Finally grow up people please. This isn’t politics!

Can we get the headline changed to highlight the positive cause instead of such a political headline?

Also it’s outside the Dail, so it took five minutes, It it took five hours I personally would not have a problem with it, Has to be the stupidest headline ever !!!

Usually the staff are quick to reply, seem unusually quiet here. Considering the majority of people are unhappy with the article, you would think they would put their hands up and correct it to avoid any further offense.

Its a stupid article from TheJournal, taking away from the seriousness of cancer and the charity. This is far more important than using the time to deal with a 3,000 long report dealing with corrupt Fianna Fail politician which will take far longer to examine and act upon anyway and wont cause the illness and death of thousands of people.

I understand its in the Daily Edge but its unfair to make a skit out of the photocall considering the seriousness of it all.

let’s see will the mighty one get rid of all the FG councellors who took bribes and are named in this fiasco….
