The Scottish capital is hosting the semi-finals of a global competition to become an ambassador for panda conservation.

IF YOU GO DOWN to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise. Assuming, of course, the woods are Edinburgh, Scotland.

The city is being invaded by giant pandas today to promote a global competition, the semi-finals of which have been taking place in the Scottish city this weekend.

The Chengdu Pambassador competition will see four people from around the world taken on a five-month-long tour around the world promoting the cause of panda conservation.

24 people were shortlisted for the European semi-final, taking place in Scotland this weekend.
