First pic of new Bond film: Daniel Craig’s grown a beard.

IS A NEW Bond film still a cinematic event? You decide – the producers of the 007 franchise have been trying to stir some hype this morning by releasing the “first official picture” from the new movie Skyfall.

This is it. It’s set in Shanghai. Spoiler: He’s carrying a pistol.

I think the poll question is a little unfair. The last two movies are intended as reboots of the series; in the same way that Batman Begins is not related to the criminally bad batman & robin.

Fair enough Liam. I think that has outed me as not the greatest Bond follower. Although to also be fair, note that the question doesn’t really apply to a specific Bond film. It asks: What do you think of Bond films. Do you look forward to the release of a new one?
That is a question that could be asked at any time, I think.

Was never really a bond fan. Liked Connery. But loved the first Daniel Craig one

But that’s the problem Susan- I never looked forward to the ones prior to the Daniel Craig rebooted series. They are chalk and cheese.

Am I the only one who gets a sense of sarcasm from the author here? The last few bond films have been a cracking return to the original books and I cannot wait for the new one.

Nothing against Bond films per se, Graham. But you’d be right to suspect that the much-hyped ‘first pic’ didn’t really blow me away… Anyway, I hope you ticked the ‘Yes’ option in the poll!

Cannot wait, love Bond, and last two have been fantastic, giving the series a great reboot. Also, Craig is a great Bond.

Casino Royale >>>> Quantum of Solace (although Olga >>>>>>> Eva).

If this one has the likes of Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem then it could be good.

There should be a 4th option on your survey Susan, IMHO….
Yes, but only since Daniel Craig took over…

Perhaps you’re right MJ – I was worried if I did, I’d be accused of being a MASSIVE Daniel Craig fan. Which of course I couldn’t possibly admit. Ahem. ;)

Casino Royale maybe best bond film ever where as Quantum of Solace one of the worse

Are you sure that the pic is Daniel Craig and not Hugh Laurie (House)?
