we do need nuclear and with the reserves we have on and off our own shores we could be energy independent within 5 to 10 years with smart people looking after it and not getting hamstrung and I know shale gas and fracking is a hot potato but it can be carried out environmentally friendly

Lets build our own nuclear power station. If we built two nuclear power plants nearly 50 percent at peak time would be generated by them instead of using mostly coal and oil.
