The DART dog will spend Christmas with an Irish Rail employee

The dog was handed in at Malahide DART station last Thursday, after being found on a train.

THE SMALL DOG who was handed in to staff at Malahide DART Station last week will be spending Christmas with a station employee after efforts to find the dog’s owner failed.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail has told TheJournal.ie that nobody has come forward to claim the dog, which was found on a DART travelling from the Greystones direction last Thursday.

Irish Rail believes that the dog is a pet as she is wearing a collar. Anyone with information is asked to contact twitter@irishrail.ie.

The dog has been taken in by a station employee and according to an Irish Rail spokesperson at least two members of staff had offered to take the dog in permanently if nobody comes forward:

They’ll be getting an extra family member for Christmas.
