Goin’ to the chapel… or somewhere else.

LOOKING FOR FOR inspiration for something a little different to celebrate your big day?

Look no further…

The Lighthouse Cinema, Smithfield, Dublin

Far from a traditional wedding venue, this is a working cinema in Dublin 7, but with a quirky feel.

If are willing to be flexible around the screenings you can get married in one of the theatres, and have some refreshments on one of the cinema’s three floors. It might not be suitable for your whole reception, but it will make for a memorable ceremony.

The Angler’s Rest, Strawberry Beds, Dublin

You can have your ceremony and your reception at The Angler’s Rest, which has recently become hugely popular as a wedding venue.

It’s close to the Phoenix Park, caters for 100 people and has that shabby chic look that so many people are after.

Cnoc Suain, Spiddal, Galway

Ed Sheeran’s cousin Laura got married here, as if you needed any other reason.

Cnoc Suain is a restored 17th century village near Spiddal and if the fancy takes you you can get married beside a standing stone dating back to 1000 BC.

Sol Y Somba

This was a Church of Ireland place of worship, built in 1816. It’s now a tapas restaurant in Killorglin, Co Kerry which still looks like a church, but plays host to delicious meals and the odd wedding ceremony.

Then there’s always Loughcrew House or Clonabreany House nearby to party the night away.

The Grand Social, Dublin

Definitely not your typical wedding venue, this somewhat grungey city centre bar transforms into a beautiful space for that special day.
