How much was a round of drinks in 1973?

Let’s look at the Taoiseach’s drink bill to find out…

CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT A luncheon hosted by the then-Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave in 1973 has revealed that at that time a brandy would set you back 61p, and you could get a whisky for 40p.
