THE DAILY MAIL published an article at the weekend about women who shave their faces.

It included advice from clinicians who say that for women, shaving your face “encourages collagen production which reduces wrinkles”, and that shaving helps men age better.

The article also tells the story of Angela Garvin, 46, who shaves her face three times a week and say it is “the best thing I could have started doing”.

The article has sparked a strong reaction online. Most of it has been negative.

The Guardian even published a counter op-ed, with Women’s Health beauty editor Anita Bagwandas asking: “Does any woman in the 21st century truly have the time or the inclination to shave her entire face for the sake of slightly softer skin?”
