What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Islanders (TV3, 9pm)

In this new TV3 series, we meet the Irish people who inhabit Ireland’s rugged, beautiful islands in 2015. From Inishturk in Co. Mayo to Whiddy Island in Co. Cork, we witness firsthand the realities and struggles of living on an island and examine whether this way of life could become a thing of the past.

First Dates (Channel 4, 10pm)

Did you see last week’s episode? If not, you missed out on Eric and Jan, the most adorable couple on the planet. Will anyone find love tonight? Or will we get to eavesdrop on some entertainingly awful first dates? Only one way to find out. #FirstDates

Second Captains (RTÉ Two, 10.30pm)

On tonight’s show, the lads chat to Limerick boxer Andy Lee, fresh off his weekend bout in New York. Other guests on the couch include golfer Shane Lowry, former Mayo manager James Horan and rugby star Peter O’Mahony. More sports stars than you can shake a stick at.
