A box belonging to a fisherman from Co. Wexford washed up on a beach in Norway

It’s a small, small world.

THIS WEEK, A Norwegian Instagram user named vidarharryb posted a photo of a box he found washed up on a beach in Senja, the second largest island in Norway.

He wrote, “No, I haven’t stole it. I found it at the beach, in Ballesvika at Senja.”

It might seem unremarkable until you realise the box seems to have made its way all the way from Duncannon, Co. Wexford.

The box reads, “Stolen from Roland Baillieul, Duncannon”.

Roland Baillieul was a fisherman based in the Wexford fishing village, who seemingly used to adorn all his boxes with the same message.

Other examples of Baillieul’s “stolen fishboxes” can be viewed here and here.

Just another reminder that it’s a tiny, tiny world out there.
