CHRISTINE O’DONNELL, THE failed US senatorial candidate and favourite of the influential Tea Party movement, got a little upset with CNN presenter Piers Morgan last night, so much so she walked off set during an interview.

The former candidate for the US senate was the Republican party’s surprise pick to run for election in Delaware last November but was soundly beaten on election day.

Her campaign had been notable for her admission that she once engaged in witchcraft and her condemnation of masturbation. She even released a campaign video in which she insisted: “I’m not a witch”.

Last night, O’Donnell came on the Piers Morgan Tonight show on CNN to talk about her new book ‘Troublemaker’ but when quizzed about her views on gay marriage which appear in the book, she got a little upset and ended the interview:

The Guardian reports that O’Donnell’s book is her attempt at a political rehabilitation following the disastrous election last year in which she was soundly beaten.

She did manage to address the issue of the infamous “I’m not a witch” campaign ad, telling Morgan prior to the walkout: “I listened to the so-called experts who have been losing election after election. The experts aren’t always experts.”

Morgan tweeted his bafflement at the actions of his interviewee last night saying it had been “his first ever walk-out in 25 years of interviews.”

He later retweeted a comment by New York Times reporter Don Van Natta Jr which read: “Christine O’Donnell is the first author in the history of publishing to walk out of a TV interview because the host apparently read her book.”

  • I found what she said: that because she is being interviewed that she should dictate the line of questioning, absolutely bizarre. Where did they find her? Has she ever observed interviews in her life before, it’s not an ad for her, it’s an interview!

  • It seems to be a common problem with a quite a few of "Tea Party Darlings", fine in front of their own supports but often getting unstuck when asked off topic Questions,Palindrome has been caught more than once, namely why she doesn’t do interviews!

  • Piers read the book, did she? Another clueless American politician unable to handle any real questions unless someone is there to tell her what to say.

  • Oh, dear !! She didn’t show herself in a good light now. Needs go grow a thicker skin & learn to be more robust in portraying her views ( however good, bad or indifferent ). Not a fan of Morgan, but he didn’t do/say anything wrong. Would love to see her on Graham Norton !!

  • So another strange Republican politician is willing to rant on about their twisted thought and opinion – but is not willing to be questioned?
O’ Yea, America would be in safe hand with that type of mentality …I don’t think so.
I’m not a fan of Morgan but he showed this useless woman for the person she is! An utter fool that would treat people like sheep to be bullied and ordered around without a care in the world – and thats along with her out of date, out of touch mental ideas to boot.

  • She should be running things in China! Read what I write, accept it – but don’t dare question it!
I think she should be a politician for other more dictator style countries! By the looks of things, they will love her – at least their strict governments would.

What a uptight, stupid silly cow. If thats the face of the Republican movement in America – god help the USA!
Out of date, out of touch and clearly out of brains!
