TALK ABOUT A passion for body piercing… or maybe it’s a passion for technology but either way this tattoo artist has implanted magnets in his arm to attach his iPod Nano to… and he videoed the whole thing.
The Gloucester County Times in New Jersey reports on Dave Hurban’s embedding of four magnets in his wrist in order to wear his iPod Nano without the need for any straps.
He calls it iDermal (we call it iQueasy) and he told Digital Trends that the micro-dermal anchors that he used are fairly common in body piercing.
He explained how the tops are five millimetre magnetic tops and explained how he took the end of the magnets and adhered them to the back of the iPod.
“And that’s how they click on to my skin,” he added saying the iPod remains in place whether he’s out running or at the gym. Handy.
“It actually wasn’t as bad as I thought,” he said when asked about the pain. “It definitely is not the worst piercing I’ve ever done to myself. I was actually just very determined to do the piercing correctly.”
Nonetheless it looks pretty painful and it definitely has the potential to be nauseating so watch with care:
