THIS NEW FATHER says that when his new baby daughter Charlotte gets “fussy”, he has found that making a sound at “motorboat frequency” settled her.
Can’t say it’s doing it for us, but it’s worth looking at for Charlotte’s BIG eyes:

We played the frog song to our son and daughter – the only thing is that our son still loves frogs!
Leave a hair dryer on, or radio tuned between stations to a nice ‘pink’ noise. Similar sounds are thought to resemble the sound of Mother’s blood flow in the womb. Driving works for the same reason, but may not be an option at four in the morning.
