Apparently making a sound like a motorboat does the trick.

THIS NEW FATHER says that when his new baby daughter Charlotte gets “fussy”, he has found that making a sound at “motorboat frequency” settled her.

Can’t say it’s doing it for us, but it’s worth looking at for Charlotte’s BIG eyes:
