Paradis Lost? Who gets the island in the Johnny Depp split?

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis announced this week that they’re to separate. Will there be a row over their private Caribbean island?

THE SAD NEWS came this week that Johnny Depp and longtime partner Vanessa Paradis have split after 14 years together.

The pair met in 1998 but never married. The American actor and French model and singer lived with their children, 9-year-old son Jack and 13-year-old daughter Lily-Rose in France.

However, the couple also owned homes in Los Angeles and on a private island in the Caribbean, a 45-acre paradise called Little Hall’s Pond Cay.

The island, situated in the Exuma Land and Sea Park in the Bahamas, is so remote Depp can only travel to it by seaplane or boat. Vanity Fair reports that Depp named two island’s beaches after his children, while others are named Paradis, Gonzo (for Hunter S Thompson) and Brando (after Marlon Brando).

Who will get this little bit of paradise in the split?
