Blue Monday

11 uplifting moments to brighten up your Blue Monday

It’s not ALL bad.

SO TODAY IS Blue Monday, one of the most depressing days of the year. Allegedly.

According to scientists, Blue Monday is not actually a real ‘thing’. However, the day falls on the last full week of January every year (though some sources claimed it was January 6 this year), whether we like it or not.

While you’re probably as down in the dumps as an average weekday, Mondays are grim at the best of times. Here are a few uplifting moments to give you a boost.

1. This little kid who got surgery with his stuffed wolf

A problem shared is a problem halved.

The photo came with this caption:

Meet 9-year-old Joshua. He recently had to go in for surgery and was so nervous that he brought along his stuffed wolf. The wolf had a tear in its leg, so Joshua asked if his doctor could do a wolf surgery too. His parents said ‘no.’ But when they walked into the recovery room to see their son, they discovered the little wolf laying next to him; this time, with a surgical mask, a little cast, and surgical quality sutures in his leg. We think the entire surgical staff deserves some serious respect and love for this act of kindness.

2. When these little girls gave their soccer team the best name EVER

Reuniting lost loves, the Teddy Bear lost and found provides an invaluable (and adorable) service worldwide.

4. When this cop stopped to play catch with a lonely kid

The Rosenberg Police Department shared a dash-cam video on their Facebook page of one of their officers stopping his car to play catch with a lone kid, with the description:

While a 2 minute game of football might not mean anything, to some it could mean everything!

The kid later said that he now wants to be a football player or police officer. Ah here.
