LAST NIGHT, THE UK’s Eurovision entry was revealed.
Still in Love With You is a sort of 1920s-esque pop number that’s heavy on Charleston references and contains lyrics like, “Don’t go out in the pouring rain/You might get wet/I’d be upset”.
The BBC describes it as “electro swing”.
Right.
It’s also performed by a band named Electro Velvet, a duo comprised Alex Lark and Bianca Nicholas. Lark performs in a Rolling Stones tribute band called The Rollin’ Clones, while Bianca appeared on The Voice UK last year.
So, what do people make of the track?
Well, nobody is convinced by the name.
And we mean nobody.
While the songwriter’s credentials didn’t exactly inspire confidence
Some even questioned whether the nation’s heart is really in it at all
And the media were particularly scathing in their assessments…
