What to watch on TV tonight: Monday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Vikings (RTÉ 2, 9pm)

The new series of the historical drama begins tonight, and everyone will be keeping an eye out for all those Irish extras and landmarks given it’s shot in our own backyard. People across the country will be convinced their bearded second cousin is in the background during the many epic fight scenes, so it’s worth tuning in for that alone. #Vikings

Animal Rescue (TV3, 8.30pm)

This new documentary series follows a range of wildlife rescue organisations including the ISPCA around Ireland as they help and rehabilitate animals in desperate need. Get the tissues ready, this could be a heartbreaker. #AnimalRescue

University Challenge (BBC 2, 8pm)

A staple of Monday night telly at this stage. Sure, the questions are often ludicrously hard, but when you do get one right, it’s the most satisfying feeling ever. And there’s bound to be a gas character in amongst the contestants. #UniversityChallenge

Everybody’s talking about… Jimmy Fallon dressing up as Donald Trump, and then interviewing him through a mirror

Yes, it happened.

It was surreal, funny and certainly provided the major TV talking point of the weekend. American politics, eh?

Or switch over for…

  • The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Film4 5.45pm) Watch Brad Pitt grow younger as each year passes. Kind of like real life, then.
  • Ireland’s Call (TV3, 10pm) With the rugby World Cup around the corner, this documentary follows Phil Coulter and the High Kings as they make a brand new version of the rugby song.
  • The Fear (RTÉ 2, 10.25pm) A new series of the Jennifer Maguire and Fred Cooke-led comedy show starts tonight.
