What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Great British Bake Off (BBC One, 8pm)

We’re into episode three of this season, and already the tension and innuendo has been off the charts. What will tonight bring for the ten remaining contestants? You know everyone will be watching and snarking away on Twitter too #GBBO

The Town (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

The high quality bank heist movie was directed by Ben Affleck, and he takes up the lead role as well. It’s thoroughly enjoyable to watch Jon Hamm’s FBI agent try to track down the gang, and the gritty Boston accent is going full pelt throughout – which is always a bonus #TheTown

Sex Party Secrets (RTÉ One, 11pm)

This documentary says it “explores the hidden world of the UK’s self-proclaimed `sexual elite’, providing an insight into the lives of the most selective party planners and their meticulously vetted clients.” We’ll see if it lives up to the billing tonight, just don’t watch it with your Mam in the room. #SexPartySecrets

Everybody’s talking about: Jon Stewart has gone from late night TV to… wrestling

Jon Stewart has just completed his epic stint as head of The Daily Show, and yesterday shocked many people by announcing that he will be hosting a WWE wrestling event later this summer.

Keeping the satire alive.

Or switch over for…

  • The Session (TG4, 10.30pm) A live performance from The Chieftains in the Point Depot from 1998. You have to guess that it was serious craic.
  • Return of the Giant Killers (BBC Two, 9pm) This is the much anticipated follow-up documentary from the BBC about African lions and their ongoing struggle to survive
  • Erin Brockovich (3e, 10pm) Before she was being dragged on stage with Taylor Swift, Julia Roberts was an Oscar-winning actress. Here’s what she won it for.
