What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Reality Bites: F*** Cancer (RTE 2, 9.30pm)

Filmed over the course of a year, this documentary follows 2FM DJ Louise McSharry as she is treated for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, while preparing for her recent wedding. It should be a powerful watch with plenty of Louise’s own brand of humour in there as well. #F***Cancer

First Dates (Channel 4, 10pm)

The second episode of the frighteningly addictive dating/car crash show. An adorably awkward lad stole the show last week, who will temporarily win the hearts of the audience this time? Expect awkward moments and bad flirting. #firstdates

Flockstars (RTE One, 8.30pm)

The grand finale of the celebrity shepherding competition is finally upon us. Oh yes. After seven episodes of semi-well known people running after sheep, it’s the appropriately named Amanda Lamb up against Lee Pearson tonight as they fight it out for the trophy and kudos of the shepherding world. #Flockstars

Everybody’s talking about… Downton Abbey’s final season – which begins this Sunday

What will happen? Everyone has a prediction.

This summary by The Guardian gives a good impression of where the show finished and how the final season could pan out:

Much of the plot of Downton Abbey has had neither rhyme nor reason over the past five series. But the one thing Downton is good at is picking up where it left off. So where were we up to last time? And what is likely to happen next? More importantly, bearing in mind that this is the last series and there are an awful lot of loose ends, what are the questions we most want answered before Mrs Patmore pipes her last meringue?

Downton fans, prepare yourselves.

Or switch over for…

  • A Week to my Wedding (RTE One, 8.30pm) The RTE series that follows couples as they prepare for the biggest and most stressful occasion of their lives. Tonight’s episode will be a “festival” wedding. Sounds easy enough.
  • The Sin Bin (TV3, 10pm) TV3′s new combination of comedy and rugby continues tonight on the eve of the rugby World Cup.
  • Man on Fire (Film4, 11.10pm) Denzel Washington and Christopher Walken’s thoroughly decent film about kidnapping revenge.
