What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

EVERY WEEKDAY lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Great British Bake Off (BBC One, 8pm) It’s the second episode of the cake-baking show’s fifth season… and tonight we bake biscuits. Before Twitter goes into overdrive tonight, arm yourself with a plentiful supply of snacks in order to combat the deliciousness on screen. Also, tissues for any emotions. #GBBO

Silicon Valley (Sky Atlantic, 9pm)

The HBO comedy about a parodic tech startup in California continues its run on these shores. This episode was hailed as a standout on its US broadcast, and apparently involves lots of painfully awkward scenes in which character try and prove they’re not racist. So now. #siliconvalley

100 Year Old Drivers (UTV, 8pm)

You know those older drivers who you get stuck behind? Well, here’s an entire documentary about the oldest drivers on the road, including a couple aged 99 and 98 who take a trip to the seaside. It threatens to be extremely adorable. #100yearolddrivers

Everybody’s talking about… Better Call Saul

Pandawhale Pandawhale

We saw the first teaser trailer this week, hot on the heels of the news that Bryan Cranston has confirmed he won’t be making a Walter White cameo in the spin-off series. “I don’t think we’re going to see any kind of rebirth of… that character,” he told the Daily Beast. Cranston also revealed that he’ll be directing an episode of Better Call Saul, and that the show will have the same crew that worked on Breaking Bad.

Or flick over for…

  • One Born Every Minute (Channel 4, 9pm) Last in the series, and the clinic is jammed.
  • The Wonder of Animals (BBC4, 8pm) New BBC nature series, the first episode focusing on the ever-wonderful penguin.
  • Unstoppable (RTÉ One, 9.35pm) Denzel Washington! A train! Dangerous chemicals! What’s not to like?
  • Fight Club (ITV4, 11pm) The first rule of the Brad Pitt and Edward Norton classic is… no, wait.
