What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Looper (BBC2, 9.05pm)

We’re not trying to get a rise out of you – that’s the name of this sci-fi film starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Bruce Willis. Joe (Willis) encounters his younger self (a creepily CGI-ed Gordon-Levitt) when he goes back in time to be killed. What follows is somewhat complicated, but good craic all the same.

The Saturday Night Show (RTÉ One, 9.50pm)

Brendan O’Connor promised us he’d be taking a few risks before he bows out in a couple of weeks’ time, but so far, no dice. Fitness expert Jessie Pavelka, model agent Celia Holman Lee and Irish cricketer John Mooney are on the couch. #satnightshow

Meet The Parents (BBC1, 10.25pm)

Ben Stiller is Greg (or Gaylord) Focker, a nurse who must finally meet his girlfriend’s parents – unfortunately, her extremely strict dad proves to be a bit of a handful. Robert De Niro plays this for all it’s worth, and it’s fantastic.

Everybody’s talking about: #Sherlock

Sure look. Sherlock writer Steven Moffat has revealed a small bit more about the upcoming fourth season of the show, saying it will be an “emotional upheaval”.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said:

There are answers coming to questions which nobody has asked. There’s one thing that no one has really brought up…

Ah Steven. We don’t think we can take all these hints. HURRY UP 2016.
