What to watch on TV tonight: Monday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

True Detective (Sky Atlantic, 9pm)

The second season wraps up tonight with episode number eight - though it may not have had the punch of the first, the finale promises more than a few shocks. #truedetective

Republic of Doyle (UTV Ireland, 10.30pm)

This Canadian show about a private investigator in a Newfoundland town gets its Irish premiere – many Newfoundlanders are of Irish descent, so expect to see that reflected in the comedy. Watch the show’s star, Allan Hawco, explaining Newfoundland slang (which sounds suspiciously like Irish slang) here.

Vanity Fair (TG4, 9.30pm)

Reese Witherspoon stars in this 2004 adaptation of William Thackeray’s novel, which centres on a poor woman who defies her background to climb the social ladder. Gabriel Byrne and Jonathan Rhys Meyers co-star.

Everybody’s talking about: #JudgeJudy

The television icon was in Dublin last weekend, and naturally attended Riverdance at the Gaeity with her family. Rumour has it that she arrived into town on the MAHOO-SIVE yacht that’s currently sitting in Dublin Port. Swish.

Naturally, everyone else was devastated to have missed her walking around town:
