Gay Byrne – Father’s War (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

This documentary follows the Grandad of Irish TV, Gay Byrne, as he retraces his father’s steps during the First World War. Edward Byrne, one of the 205,000 Irish men that fought in WWI, was present at key moments in the war including the Battle of the Somme.

Speed With Guy Martin (More4, 10pm)

In this series, motorcycle racer Guy Martin sets out to explore the science of speed. The latest episode sees him trying to break the British record for speed on a bicycle – 110mph.
