THREE-YEAR-OLD Grayson Clamp was born without cochlear nerves, leaving him completely deaf.

After other treatments had failed, his parents tried a pioneering medical procedure called an ‘auditory brain stem implant’, WBTV reports.

Here is the moment Grayson heard his father’s voice saying ‘I love you’ for the first time:

The implant is a microchip surgically inserted into Grayson’s brain, which helps to process sound.
