My girlfriend seems to love small pets..i heard her talking to her friend on the phone saying that because i was away alot she was going to get herself a rabbit for company….shes such a sweet girl ;)
I think the pin thing may be true as my wife always has one to hand when I annoy her, and they hurt.
Help, just discovered that I’ve been living a lie for the past 50 years and that I’m not a girl/woman after all. Therapy here I come.

Good sense of humour, sadly lacking in one or two posters.
Reality TV, constantly asking about your thoughts at any given moment in time, wishing to engage in conversation with people who were asleep right up to the point of being asked ‘are you asleep?’, shoes, matching handbags, gay friends, the ‘minger’ in the group to make her always feel good about how she looks, blokes who are so adept at checking out other women without getting caught that she thinks he never looks at other women.
Things girls like? I’m only guessing here but; not being reduced and defined by 11 empty-headed, 1-dimensional tweets compiled by lazy hacks who think a google search is overegging the pudding in terms of journalistic research

@Michael Freeman, I did enjoy it (altho to be fair, the cat-clip carried more intellectual and semiotic substance), I only wish my office’s only occasionally funny in-jokes could be broadcast on a national platform but hey, I guess that’s the perks of being in the meeja bubble (console yourself with the notion that I’m lividly jealous if that helps mate)
Women like not having sweeping generalisations made about their gender.
And yes, I know I’m going to get 50,000 thumbs down but I’m done reading this crap!

Hi Tricia! Sorry you felt that way. Just to be clear, the point of this piece isn’t that any of these things are true. We just thought some of the answers to the Twitter trend were funny (hence the “according to the internet”) in the headline. Hope that clears things up!
@Michael. I did realise that the article wasn’t saying those things are true. But, whether you think it is the case or not, there does appears to be large swaths of society that Do think they’re true. Most of the time people don’t seem to even be aware they have them but you just need to look at some of the comments, at times, here on The Journal. Every day women are subjected to preconceived assumptions based on gender stereotypes. It’s frustrating and this article just adds to that.
Anyway, rant over. Thanks for taking the time to repond.
