The picture that sums up the situation in Europe right now?

We’re sure this image from outside the ECB Occupy Frankfurt was not an omen…

THIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS taken last month when the Occupy Frankfurt movement set up camp in front of the euro sculpture at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, Germany. AP photographer Michael Probst captured the scene with the campers’ cooking grate in the foreground. We’re sure it’s not a omen…

  • I’ve just sent off for me German passport. It’s cheaper to get one now before they issue an order to get one. To think they once had to start wars, invade lands and eliminate people to rule beyond the motherland. All they needed were a few bank managers and greedy gamblers and job done.

  • No there is no need for racism, but people are understandbly angered by Germany’s arse about way of dealing with Euro crisis. For every reckless borrower there is a wreckless lender. Germans don’t appear to take any responsibility for what’s happened and are now on a campaign to protect German and French Banks at every other country’s expense. Well that’s what’s being portrayed.

  • I imagine the German people alive along with myself have very little similarities or affection for the nazi regime that swept Europe in the last century. The racism of Irish people is clearly evident by comments posted to the journal in recent weeks. It’s very saddening that this is reflective of what I would have considered a well educated population with an outward looking economy…

    • Hi eggfuel, I dont believe the people are racist, I do believe that people have made comparisons to the nazis taking over europe, and a very evident merkel(correct spelling?) pulling strings, as if she was dictating europe….can you see it now?no one in ireland believes jews will be slaughtered over the next year or so, or that germany will be setting up armed road blocks around france….yadda yadda yadda. Wait, does my comment make me racist?

  • Yea this ain’t got anything to do with past germany , it all about German and French banks gettin there Monet back and the great German leaders of the past are comming also speaking out about this disgraceful behaviour .. Anyway the level of cutbacks the wanna impose on euro country won’t work, no bank of last resort ?, and last but not least no haircuts , it ain’t gonna work the euro need growth as well, I afraid.
