I was always a dog man. Until i found a 7 week old kitten. He’s 2and a bit now. I was and am continually surprised by their cleverness and intelligence. I also love their aloofness. I still like dogs but then again i love all animals

I find cat lovers don’t mind dogs whereas dog lovers seem to hate cats! Cats can be cleaner ie they won’t poo everywhere and anywhere and when they do go to the toilet they clean it up themselves by covering it up!

Its a question of loyalty. When you feed a dog you get the impression that he’s looking at you thinking ” he’s supplying me with food, he must be a god”, whereas when you feed a cat you get the impression that he looks at you thinking “he’s supplying me with food, I must be a god.

@john mack dogs poo can do the same damage to humans as cats poo. I only found this out myself recently.

For those who still carry the Christian superstition that cats are evil when was the last time you heard of anyone being killed by a cat – children are often mauled/killed by dogs – last christmas a woman in her 40s was killed in the kitchen of her boyfriends house by his dog. I love both but Isabelle is right there is a poster at my vets warning about the dangers of parasites in dog poo as they can make you blind and children playing in parks have been made blind by this parasite from coming into contact with dog poo. Dogs and cats are totally different – if you like an animal that you have to train and discipline and that does what you tell it you will probably like dogs – if you prefer an animal with soft fur, that purrs and is more relaxing than excitable then you will like cats – there is a theory that some people prefer cats because they are the size and weight of a baby and give a similar feeling to cradling an infant in your arms. Cats definitely don’t tie you down like a dog does – you can leave them for two nights alone and go to a gig if you want to and they will be quite happy.

Both are great, but currently we have two cats and they are fabulous creatures.

Yes they are selfish, scheming, and murder mice and birds, but they are fascinating. They are also much easier to keep than dogs.

I grew up with a lovely dog though, a mix of a Labrador and a Sheepdog, so I like them too…

It has recently been established that cats, and their owners, have no souls. Only joking! I like both, having grown up in a house full of them. I’d be biased towards dogs though ‘cos you can do more with them and they get you out of the house wether you like it or not.

Personally, I prefer dogs. They are 100% loyal and love you like you’re the best person in the whole world! Our dog Bobby (he’s 3 this year) is still very young but he’s sweet, funny, mischievous and affectionate. He’s the best!

I really just wish people would pick up their pets shit off the footpaths and grassy areas, so kids dont end up playing in it. Also wish I was allowed shoot at the offenders with a pellet gun… But would settle for them picking it up.

For me it has to be a dog….cats are selfish & move on if they can get a better deal elsewhere !! My favourite is the Irish Wolfhound…..beautiful, elegant, gentle giants….have 3…..only problem is you’d need a full time zoo keeper to clean up after them….upside is you’d never step in their poo unless your totally blind !!

I do like both but I have a preference for dogs ! I think watching documentaries (term used loosely ) about hoarding and all the women had hundreds of cats ! The filth and dirt has made me move towards the dog!! Not that I’m blaming the cats really obviously the women that had them roaming around in their “homes” suffer from serious illness ! But has tainted my view !!

I woke up in bed once with a cat sitting on my chest and staring at me! The punch I gave it was unmerciful! Cats are the devil!

These burning questions are like burning diarrhea, you don’t know the reason behind it and you want it to stop.

Getting a dog was a massive mistake. I like them but I really don’t want one in my garden or house.

cats.. love them, independent, clean and so cuddly.. dogs are just lazy and stink!
