HACKER GROUP LIZARD Squad has hacked into singer Taylor Swift’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, sending out bogus tweets to fans.

Lizard Squad claims to be responsible for the Christmas Day attacks which took down Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network during one of the busiest periods of the year.

According to the Daily Dot, Taylor Swift is their next target.

Now-deleted tweets on Swift’s account offered ‘shout outs’ and follows to fans, and encouraged them to follow accounts purporting to belong to members of Lizard Squad.

The Verge reports that in other deleted tweets, the hackers claimed to have stolen nude photos of Swift, which they would release in exchange for payment in Bitcoin.

Swift, who is currently holidaying in Hawaii with the band Haim, confirmed the hacking on her Tumblr:

Twitter is deleting the hacker tweets and locking my account until they can figure out how this happened and get me new passwords. Never a dull moment.

She also couldn’t resist the opportunity to quote herself:

Yesterday Lizard Squad hacked into the Malaysia Airlines and stole passenger information, which they threatened to release today.

The group initially claimed responsibility for today’s Facebook and Instagram outage, but the websites have denied that the downtime was the result of a hacking attempt.
