7 inevitable responses to Michelle Mulherin's call for a Dáil 'Skype facility'

The Fine Gael TD also wants an alarm bell to tell politicians when a call is getting too expensive.

THIS MORNING, IT was reported that Mayo TD Michelle Mulherin has called for a “Skype facility” to be installed in the Dáil to avoid expensive phone call controversies.

The Fine Gael TD has made the news this week after racking up a Dáil phone bill of over €2,000. Her solution is the installation of a “Skype facility” in Leinster House as well as an alarm bell to sound when phone calls get too expensive.

Naturally, this was met online with some derision:

They never needed a Skype facility in House of Cards

Talk quickly turned to how the Government would fund this major operation

And there was, of course, some outrage

She also called for an alarm bell to sound when a call was getting particularly expensive
