Seth Rogen says American Sniper reminds him of fictional Nazi propaganda, Twitter explodes

The Canadian actor’s comments have started a debate around the film’s content.

SETH ROGEN HAS sparked controversy by commenting on Clint Eastwood’s latest movie American Sniper – saying that it reminded him of a film the Nazis produce in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds.

American Sniper opened over the weekend, and set several box office records. Rogen then took to Twitter to say that the film was reminiscent of a portion of Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, inciting an intense online reaction.

The film-within-a-film is called Nation’s Pride, which you can watch in full here, and it shows a fictional Nazi sniper killing many Allies as part of a propaganda film. It featured briefly in the final section of Tarantino’s 2009 movie Inglorious Basterds.
