Rihanna to design clothes for River Island

Rihanna wants to have fun with the high street store.

WE’VE HAD KATE Moss for Topshop, David Beckham for H&M and now we’re going to be treated to Rihanna for River Island.

The songstress announced the fashion collaboration on her website today, saying she is looking forward to creating something “really special” for the British brand.

She was attracted to the high street store because of its English roots and family ethos.

I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family-run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes.

The so-called capsule collection won’t be launched until the Spring of next year. In the meantime, we’ve put together a slideshow of some of her recent outfits that may be the inspiration behind what will hit the Grafton Street flagship in 2013. Things could go either way, really:
