RIHANNA AND KIM Kardashian are among the purported victims of a second wave of hacked nude photos, posted online over the weekend.

A slew of nude images apparently of female celebrities - including shots of actresses Vanessa Hudgens and Aubrey Plaza – appeared on 4chan and Reddit on Saturday.

TMZ reports that at least some of them have been removed. However, several Reddit threads containing what appear to be nude photos of the celebrities were still active this morning.

Personal videos and photos belonging to Mary-Kate Olsen, Hayden Panettiere and Amber Heard appear to have been posted, in addition to previously unseen pictures of Jennifer Lawrence.

They were posted in forums related to ‘The Fappening’ – the name of the subreddit that hosted the original photos and generated unprecedented traffic for Reddit before being removed.

However, it appears that several spin-off subreddits are still in operation. Reddit is yet to comment publicly on the new leak, after a blog post by co-founder Yishan Wong on the original leak generated controversy.

Most of the hack’s alleged victims have remained silent on the leak. However, actress Gabrielle Union told TMZ she will be contacting the FBI. She said in a statement:

It has come to our attention that our private moments, that were shared and deleted solely between my husband and myself, have been leaked by some vultures. I can’t help but to be reminded that since the dawn of time women and children, specifically women of colour, have been victimised, and the power over their own bodies taken from them.

Hackers first released a trove of nude stars’ photos on September 1, after snatching them from Apple’s iCloud in what the tech giant has called a “targeted attack.”

The company has denied its cloud storage system was breached, suggesting that the celebrities had their accounts hacked by using easy-to-guess passwords, or by giving up their personal data to cybercriminals posing as Apple, a technique known as “phishing.”

In addition to Lawrence, celebrities whose pictures were allegedly stolen and posted online in early September included model Kate Upton and singer Avril Lavigne.
