9 people who were pretty sad about the Queen’s corgi dying

The news of Monty’s passing yesterday has hit some a little hard….

SO, IN CASE you hadn’t heard the Queen’s corgi, ‘Monty’, has died.

Buckingham Palace issued a statement yesterday to confirm that one of the three corgis who went all Hollywood in the Olympics opening ceremony James Bond sketch had passed away.

Monty hit mega stardom when he appeared in the sketch greeting Daniel Craig’s Bond character as he arrived at the palace to accept a mission from the Queen and parachute her into the Olympic Stadium (Note: the parachuting bit didn’t really happen, she just got the bus there*)

AP says the Palace would not say how ‘Monty’ died or how old the corgi was which might prompt a few conspiracy theories.

But mostly people were just a little sad, like these tweeters:
