American DVD cover for LGBT film 'Pride' removes all references to gay people

The film is about a group of gay and lesbian activists who supported striking miners in 1980s Britain.

THE AMERICAN DVD release for LGBT movie Pride has had all references to gay people removed from the cover.

Starring Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton and Irish actor Andrew Scott, Pride tells the story of a group of gay and lesbian activists who supported the British miners’ strike in the 1980s.

The film has just been released on DVD in the US, but some quite significant details are missing from the cover – namely, all references to homosexuality.

According to PinkNews, the DVD cover in the UK describes the main characters as a ‘London-based group of gay and lesbian activists’ while the US DVD reads ‘London-based activists’.
