Dublin's 'Prince Charming' reunites schoolgirl with lost phone

Would you do this if you found an iPhone on the street?

A DUBLIN SCHOOLGIRL has been reunited with her lost iPhone after a kind stranger used Twitter to track her down.

Páidí Murphy was walking on George’s Street in the city centre when he saw the 4s lying on the ground.

Picking it up he saw the battery was dead, so he took it home to charge it, intending to hand it into the Gardaí the following day.

Meanwhile…

Sixth year student Sibhéal had been attending a Meteor event in Whelans when she lost her phone.

Meanwhile Páidi had charged her missing phone, but found that it was locked.

He decided to try one last thing before handing it in, and accessed the drop down menu on the locked homescreen.

He was able to see the last tweet Sibhéal had received, and so contacted all of the people in that tweet, to see if any had mislaid their phone:

And so, by the power of Twitter, a meet up was arranged and Sibheal was reunited with her phone today:

As an added bonus, Páidí works in the Happy Pills sweet shop beside the Central Bank on Dame Street, so as well as getting her phone back, she got a few free sweets too!

DailyEdge.ie contacted Páidí Murphy today (because we’re suckers for a bit of heartwarming news) and he said:

It was such a nice feel good thing, and she was so lovely and so happy to get her phone back.
I’d be lost without my phone, so I was delighted to be able to reunite someone with theirs.

Sibhéal meanwhile told us that he was a “true Prince charming”.

God bless us, everyone!

So, what would you do if you found a phone on the street? Be honest…
