A NEW DOCUMENTARY is set to reveal that BBC HQ was all about sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll back in the day.
Play School presenters went on camera stoned after “smoking the biggest joint you’ve ever seen” and filmed a nativity scene, while Sir David Attenborough could be heard complaining about the smell of drugs in the corridors.
The Telegraph reports that former Doctor Who actress Katy Manning revealed that staff were “bonking all over the place” in television centre.
It’s also reported that drug use was tolerated at the London HQ, with musicians lighting up in the dressing rooms. According to The Independent there were complaints about guests in the building who “didn’t smoke ordinary cigarettes” and that the dressing rooms were frequented by amorous couples.
The documentary ‘Lights! Camera! Action! Tales of Television Centre’ is due to be broadcast on BBC 4 on 17 May.
