Wasn’t advice but more of an action. Was playing in a county minor final in the 80′s, The morning of the game i woke up with my fringe 2 inches shorter. & yes i played sh*te! :-)

With seven children, my Mam used to tell us that if we made any noise while the christmas cake was in the oven, it wouldn’t rise. Resulted in a few hours of peace for her in the run up to Christmas every year!!

When I was about age 14, my mother told me that after having sex I should carefully wash my penis and urinate immediately to flush out any possible bacteria. Words of advice I’d never have heard from Dad. I have followed that advice faithfully over the past 60 years and have never contracted any STD.

I wish Mammy Cowen had given this advice;
Never agree to pay back somebody elses bad loans without knowing how much they are worth.
