On stress test day, Ireland gets a little gift from space

It may be Black Thursday down here – but from up there, it all looks blue, green, and enviably calm.

FROM A DISTANCE, as Bette Midler crooned, the world looks blue and green – and even Ireland looks wonderfully unstressed.

We’re not sure if the astronauts aboard the International Space Station are aware that we’re facing into the national equivalent of the entire country’s Leaving Cert Maths results, but either way, we’re very grateful for the little nod from above on Ireland’s black Thursday.
