A FRENCH COUPLE have been thwarted in their attempts to name their baby Nutella, after a judge ruled that it wouldn’t be fair to the child.
According to La Voix Du Nord a judge in Valenciennes in the north of France said that naming the baby after the delicious chocolately Italian spread could lead to mocking and wasn’t in the child’s best interests.
Time reports that the judge then deemed that the baby, who was born in September, should be named Ella, after the parents failed to turn up in court.
Meanwhile parents who wanted to name their baby Fraise (the French word for strawberry) were also denied, largely because of its inclusion in a slang phrase which translates as “get your ass over here”.
