Nile Rodgers wore a jacket by an Irish designer to Elton's Oscars after party

Designer Claire Garvey is ‘so thrilled’ that Rodgers chose to wear her creations on the red carpet.

DUBLIN-BASED FASHION DESIGNER Claire Garvey is definitely having a very good Monday – last night, she saw one of her creations on the red carpet at a swanky Oscars after party.

(You might remember Garvey as the designer of Miss Universe Ireland Lisa Madden’s Celtic warrior-inspired national costume.)

Last night, Chic musician Nile Rodgers wore not one but two of Garvey’s jackets to Elton John’s Oscar party. Here he is with Elt himself, sporting a patterned black and blue number:

Later on in the night, Rodgers changed into this white and grey jacket, also designed by Garvey, to perform with Elton and the rest of Chic.

Posting a picture of the black jacket on Facebook, Garvey said she was “so thrilled” to see her designs on the red carpet, right beside Elton John.

But this isn’t the first time she has dressed the musician – Rodgers is a big fan of her jackets, and often wears her creations while performing. Sure look at the two of them there. Best pals.
