‘Muslim rage’ cover of Newsweek turns into #MuslimRage Twitter jokefest

NEWSWEEK ILLUSTRATED THE protests sweeping the Muslim world - following the release of an anti-Islam film - with a front cover headline of ‘Muslim Rage’ and an image of angry protesters.

The front cover also points to a story by Islam critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali who has written about ‘how I survived it (the ‘muslim rage’) and how we can end it’.

Newsweek tweeted its followers asking them to get involved in the conversation using the hashtag #MuslimRage, but didn’t quite get the reaction it was expecting.

This one, from Twitter user @LibyaLiberty has already been tweeted more than 4,000 times:

While some are using the #MuslimRage hashtag to make serious points, it has also gone off on a rather hilarious tangent…

If I was a man of faith, I’d pray for a pill to administer to these eegit’s so they get their senses back and come round to reality and little rational independent thought.
It scares the sh*te out of me to see so many grown man all so deluded and brainwashed that they behave in this way. Scary to see such reactions and emotions expressed to something 99.5% of them have not yet seen but are so grievously distraught and angered by it it warrants riots, murder and carnage.

“Tolerance of intolerance is cowardice.” – Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She is one of the most decent human beings there is. She grew up Muslim and did not accept bigotry/hate as a way to live her life or to submit to it. Of course there are moderate-Muslims (in the West and a very small minority in Islamic countries) but the idea of Moderate-Muslims in the Middle East/Northern Africa is a fairy tale. The majority are as radical, intolerant, ruthless, and hateful as can be.

  Mr. Stanley your Western and not a native of the ME; and you are in SAUDI ARABIA. My mom’s cousins in England (British Army) were based in Saudi Arabia it is very safe for Western-White-Christians. They keep a tight leash on their people, by the lovely Saudi Piece of Royal Shit Family; who anyone objects to is never heard from again. Saudis are as radical as can be, the only difference is the people are controlled and get their royal bribes to keep shut; that’s why there is no Arab Uprising there. Out of all the Arab states Arabian Peninsula and Jordan had no uprisings. Where were all the 9/11 Hijackers from? Japan? Osama Bin Laden is part of the Saudi Royal Family. The Saudi’s and the UAE kiss so much of America and Europe’s ass, they are controlled by very smart people.

  well, it is unfortunate that in the 21st century a section of the globe is still in the medieval era. This religion that does not forgive people, accommodate human right and good governance, equality, live and let live attitude, should not have been allowed to take hold in our mist. The west should take the blame because they imported them here out of greed and now we all live in fear of being blown up in our homes, churches, shopping centres, aircrafts, airports and couch stations around the world. The question people should honestly answer now is “does this religion have a place in modern society? you decide.
