They did this on Top of the Pops a few years previous as well when they were asked to mime.

Nirvana did it better on totp years before.

Top of the pops stopped live bands after the who played 5.15 live and smashed the place to bits, pity peado Saville wasn’t there at the time ,
It’s only live if you’re there, anything else is recorded or not quite the same….

Oasis did this on Top of the Pops to ‘Roll With It’ – years ago!!!

Oh please, how is this news??! Oasis famously did the exact same thing back in 1995 on TOTP performing Roll With It, Liam on guitar and Noel on vocals. Kurt Cobain pretended to be a lounge singer in ’91 after only the vocals would be allowed put out live by TOTP producers,. Even in the ’70s, The Stranglers infamously took the urine in 1977 with their “puppet-miming”, Johnny Rotten just sat down and didn’t open his mouth in ’78.

The point is………….. please don’t try to suggest Muse are being original. They’re achingly average just like their music.
