Video shop owner takes pity on customer arrested for not returning Jennifer Lopez video

The charges were dropped after the story went viral around the world.

THE OWNER OF a now-closed video shop in the US has taken pity on a customer they had arrested for not returning a Jennifer Lopez movie.

Kayle Michelle Finley rented critically-slated film Monster-in-Law from Dalton Videos in South Carolina back in 2005, and is accused of never bringing it back.

She was arrested last week when she visited the local sheriff’s office on another matter, and the warrant was found.

Finley spent the night in jail – and her story went viral around the world.

Pickens County sheriff’s deputies say the owner of Dalton Videos has now decided to not pursue the charge because of the media attention that the arrest received.

It’s not known whether Finley, now 27, has rewound the video either.
