An old man from California punched a bear in the face so he could rescue his tiny dog from being mauled.
Carl Moore heard his beloved Lacey whimpering and went to investigate – outside, he found a wild bear poised to attack.
Speaking to a local news station, the 73-year-old ex-Marine said he didn’t think twice about punching the animal in the face to save his little dog:
I raised both hands in the air, and I cussed at him. “YARGH! Get out of here, you asshole!”, y’know. And he looked at me like, “Go eff yourself.”
Moore claims that at this point, he ran up to the bear and gave it a whack in the face. His friend of 25 years, John Sargent, says he saw the whole thing – and though the bear was slightly smaller than Moore, it was still pretty scary.
It’s safe to say Moore isn’t afraid of anything:
The man or beast that I run from ain’t been born, and his momma is already dead. I ain’t running from nothing. I never have in my whole life and I ain’tgonna start now.
