Amy Adams abruptly had a scheduled TV interview cancelled after she declined to comment on the Sony hacks. The actress was due to appear on The Today Show to promote her latest film Big Eyes when the interview was called off.
According to Page Six, Adams was in the green room when she was told that she would be asked to comment on the Sony hacks. When she refused, the whole thing was called off leaving her “shocked and upset”.
In a statement, NBC said:
As a news program, the ‘Today’ show doesn’t allow guests to put restrictions on interviews. In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview.
It was noted that Bradley Cooper was not asked about the Sony hacks when he appeared on the same show.
Another source, however, said that Adams acted “belligerent” and reduced a show staffer to tears.
