SO ONE DIRECTION’S squeaky-clean image could just be a lie? Colour us surprised!
Footage obtained by the Mail Online appears to show Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson sharing a ‘funny cigarette’ in the back of a van during the Latin America leg of their tour in April.
It’s unclear whether the rolled-up cigarette is actually a joint, but during the video the two freely discuss “Mary Jane”, “contraband” and “controversial content”.
Louis announces: “So here we are, leaving Peru, joint lit, happy days.”
Later, he teases his bandmate by saying he “takes his job very seriously”:
He makes sure he goes through a two hour intense warm-up before every show. One very very important factor to Zayn’s warmup is of course, Mary Jane herself.
He then passes the cigarette to Zayn, who takes a pull and blows smoke into the camera.
The fact that they are getting a police escort to their destination amuses them no end, with Louis saying:
He’s having a look, he’s thinking, I’m SURE I can smell an illegal substance in there. And he’s hit the nail on the head.
At one point in the video, he asks “Will this come back to me? Who knows? Maybe. Maybe not.” Erm.
It’s not yet known how this video will impact their travelling to the US for their tour later this summer – the country has famously strict drug laws, and previously banned Nigella Lawson and Amy Winehouse from entering the country after drugs scandals.
A rep from their UK record company told the Telegraph that the matter is “in the hands of our lawyers”.
Parents are more likely to be shocked by the video, as the fans think it’s hilarious:
